Awards for Nantwich’s unsung heroes

This year’s Salt of the Earth Awards have been launched by Nantwich Mayor Penny Butterhall.

The awards celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups and businesses, that selflessly make a real difference to the Nantwich community.

Cllr Butterhill is now inviting nominations for the awards, to be presented at an intimate reception on May 3 at Nantwich Civic Hall.

Anyone who knows an individual or group, who gives up their time and energy to help others, can help to get recognition for their work by nominating them for an award.

Award categories include Community Volunteer, Inspiring Individual, Supporting Children, Young Achiever, Outstanding Organisation/Group/Project, Business Support in the Community and the Community Sports Award.

Cllr Butterhill will also present a Mayor’s Recognition Award for an inspirational individual or group who has made an outstanding impression during her year of office.

This award is specifically decided by the Mayor and nominations will not be accepted.

To nominate someone, apply to the Mayor with the names, addresses and contact deatils of both the nominee and person nominating, along with the award category and the reason for nomination in less than 250 words.

Nominations must be submitted no later than March 23 to the Civic Hall.
