Winter wonderland at Weston

Nantwich families are invited to a charity Christmas light spectacle in Weston next month.

The event, created by Graham Witter, will be raising money for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.

It will mark the fifth year that his family home, farm buildings and garden will be transformed into a festive woderland.

Santa will be visiting every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the last few days before Christmas.

Children can have their own ‘sleigh selfie’ with Santa, while families enjoy festive music, mince pies and ice cream from a vintage ice cream van.

Graham, 23, said: “The light display was originally set up for my late sister Jessica who had a fascination for colour, light and sound.

“Jessica had cardio-facio cutaneous syndrome, severe epilepsy and multiple complex health needs.

“I lost her in December 2015 – but I am continuing this yearly event in her memory.

“My sister used to visit the hospice each year for respite care, so Mum and Dad could have a break – but they also offered many hours of family support.

“This is my way of saying ‘thank you’ – but provides a yearly community event which families absolutely love.”

Graham has raised almost £40,000 since 2013.

The event will run at Carters Green Farm on Jack Lane from December 1 to 28, 6.15pm to 9pm. Entry is by donation.
